Where can I complete assignments and get help with assignments?

The open computer lab (located in Rm.215 of Bldg. 18) is available to all registered students of State College of Florida. There you have access to computers with all the software needed to complete assignments in your computer courses. In addition, the lab is staffed with knowledgeable personnel who may be able to help you with questions.

I have Microsoft Works on my home computer. Can I use that to complete my assignments?

Microsoft Works is not the same as Microsoft Office and may not be used for assignments in these classes.

How do I know if I have Microsoft Works or Microsoft Office?

At your computer desktop, click the Start button, then point to All Programs or Programs (depending on your version of Windows). Scan the list of programs available. If you find Microsoft Office, point to it with your mouse cursor. If you then see the applications (Word 2007, Excel 2007, and PowerPoint 2007), then you have the correct versions of these products installed.

I have an older version of Microsoft Office on my computer. Is that okay?

Some of the features you will be learning in class are not available in earlier versions of Office. You should use Office 2007 to complete all assignments for this course. Microsoft 2007 and Windows Vista are available in the Open Computer Lab if you do not have access to these products from home. You can also download trial versions of the Office 2007 software from the www.microsoft.com website. The trial versions will expire after a stated time period. Check with the college bookstore about student discounts on software that may be available to you.

How can I complete my SoundByte assignments?

Login to the book's MYITLab website. A link for this is provided on the Data Files page of this website. You will need to establish a username and password before you can access chapter information.

How can I complete my Lab Homework assignments?

Instructions for completing assignments are found on the book's  MYITLab website. A link for this is provided on the Data Files page of this website. You will need to establish a username and password before you can access information. Login to your Angel SCF account. Select our course and then upload completed assignments through the Lessons object of the Angel course.
